Education is an integral part of belonging to a quilt club. It enables us to learn new techniques, learn about new tools, and expand our quilting knowledge and skill.
Desert Lily Quilters normally has monthly demonstrations that are a part of the meetings. One and two day classes are offered several times a year for a nominal fee. They are taught by members who have achieved a skill level in a certain aspect of quilting or by teachers that tour professionally. Frequently the professional teacher will do a trunk show for all members to see as well as teach their class. Classes have included dying fabric, embroidery, appliqué, embellishments, special piecing techniques, fabric painting, machine quilting, and much more. We have also offered bus trips, summer retreats, and other events in past years and hope to do so in the future.
Linda Sullivan of Colourwerx (https://colourwerx.com/) presented her wonderful trunk show on February 1, 2024 and classes on that Thursday and Friday. Below are some pictures from her trunk show.
Below are instructors and classes we have hosted in the past.
