Desert Lily Quilters is actively involved with the Yuma community. Every year we choose a local charity that will receive the proceeds from our annual opportunity quilt ticket sales.

Last year we chose the Assistance League of Yuma, which supports a number of initiatives, including scholarships, clothing drives and toy drives for children in that community, and we were able to raise $4,000 for them in the past year.

Additionally, we are involved with and donate to the following:

  • Scholarships (see below)
  • Fidget Quilts (see below)
  • Toys for Tots
  • Marine Corps Newborn

Fidget quilts: Used for Alzheimer and dementia patients, and even little kids who need something to o with their hands. It’s all about texture. They often feature zippers, ties, ribbons, snaps, and closures. anything that
can keep the fingers busy and can be washed will work.
Scholarships: Each year, the Desert Lily Quilters award scholarships to
local students for higher education. To qualify, high school seniors and
college students, who are U.S. students, must submit applications by the
